A lot has been written about Karl Chircop. He was a very popular family doctor, and had a promising political career, and he died tragically at a young age. It is expected that such a death would cause an outpouring of grief.

But there was more to Karl than that. Everybody who knew him; family, friends, patients, constituents, colleagues or adversaries were all struck by his charisma and his calm demeanour. He was respected and dearly loved in his medical profession. Even in his other profession, politics, he was deeply respected because his approach was gentlemanly and he never sunk to the depths into which it can be so easy to fall.

Some of his colleagues and friends
have got together to organise a living memorial to Karl, after consultation with his family. A fund has been set up to collect contributions to plant a tree grove in Karl’s memory, a living tribute to a special person, and also a person who went about doing things in a special way.
