| The current MAM
council started its work in August 2004. The average age
of this council is lower than that of previous councils,
and
as a matter of fact it has had a very dynamic and energetic
approach in dealing with the issue affecting the Medical
profession.
The council believes that the interests of
all members, and all categories should be represented by the
association. The association endevours to strengthen the Medical
profession and to further enhance its internal unity. Every
member should feel that he is adequately protected and represented
by the association.
The current council also believes in promoting the highest
possible standards of Medical education and medical practice
in Malta. Great priority is given to the setting up of legislatory,
and regulatory aspects of post graduate education and continued
professional development, so that the standards of the local
profession will remain comparable to the highest international
standards.
The present MAM council would like to promote
the highest level of professionalism amongst its members by
supporting and consulting with the local academic associations
of the various specialities. The association has also kept
up all its international affiliations- and tries to participate
as actively as possible so as to keep up with the latest international
trends.
